Why You Keep Losing In Iron Dominion (It's Your Supply Lines)

When I started Iron Dominion I did what everyone does: built the biggest army I could and threw it at the enemy. I lost constantly. Turns out a huge force with no supply behind it just melts.

Every unit depends on the roads and depots connecting it to your base. Stretch too far and your army fights at half strength without you even noticing why. The game shows this in a supply overlay that I ignored for far too long. Turn it on and leave it on.

The real strategy is offensive logistics. Instead of meeting an enemy head-on, cut the road feeding their front line. Their army weakens on its own and you clean up. This one shift took me from losing most skirmishes to winning them comfortably.

Also don't sleep on defensive depots near your borders. They let you react fast when the AI probes your weak points, which it absolutely will. Slow the game down, read the map, and think a few moves ahead.
